I have a JVC. Mine's an Everio hm30 and it's pretty good. The battery life is craptastic though. Like, really awful. I film with it at home plugged in anyway, so it doesn't bother me. Other than that though, it's pretty good.

I've heard things about battery, but I'm mostly using it at home too, so it wouldn't be an issue

What format do they record in??
I had a JVC once that recorded in MTS format, which were a pain in the backside to work with easily, without converting first.
I now have cameras that record in either MOV or MP4 format, which are much easier to work with natively.

MTS, not a problem ATM, so it's still nice >.< I'd give it some time for testing, already made my first video using it and it's going good.
