Has anybody else quit their 9-5 job to become a full time YouTuber? I just quit my job to do it, but it's been a bit challenging here and there. Would love to hear some stories.
 
Do you make enough as a full time job though?
I have never quit my full time job for it, I do youtube on the side!
 
As much as I would love to do this - I simply couldn't afford (risk) my lifestyle by doing so.
If I was on my own living in a different country then perhaps..
Depends on your life?

exactly my thoughts, circumstances make it easier/harder for some people to do it. also guts are needed, i doubt ill ever be brave enough to quit my job to do something that might not work out. i think to make enough money on yt you need to spend a lot of time on it and that clashes with jobs, so if you can take the risk do it if its what you want dont wait until the risk is too big
 
We don't know how old you are but "enough money " will mean different things if you are 17 or 40. If you have few bills and a job paying minimum wage (is it still $4.25 by the way?) then it's much easier to take the risk. Have 2 kids a house and good job already, like me, there's no way I'd quit unless I had 3 million views a week minimum because I'd be giving up what I worked for and would later get as well, for an unknown.

I think when I'm 67, yes I'll quit my job and do YouTube full time. Should have iPhone 24 by then

Of course if I put my kids in crazy videos I'm sure I'd make a fortune, seems to be the way it's going, but I love them too much to ever do that!

Plenty of people, and since you have connections to TJHunt this is a question you already know the answer to. Besides, with the numbers in your social blade an your alternative source of income by photography amongst other things you are pretty solid to not tie yourself down at a desk type job.

Me? If I had your socialblade numbers I'd drop my job in a heartbeat. But since I don't I can continue dreaming.
 
My channel is far too small to do so. It's definitely more of a hobby and a creative outlet for me.
 
No not yet. One day I'm hopeful that I will. I don't want to be stuck doing what I am doing for the rest of my life. So I'm working towards building something. So that hopefully one day I can make it my job. One thing I do plan on doing is diversifying my income. I wouldn't want to be in a position like many youtubers are in now with the whole advertisers leaving thing. I'm lucky in the sense that I am in a niche that's evergreen, is not controversial by default, and there is a lot of scope for income diversity without being spamming or looking like you're selling out. I'm a long way off that though. However I'm growing faster than what I expected so who knows
 
I would love to do it, but my channel is still small so currently I need my job haha! If I ever got tot the stage where I knew I could do it, and if I had enough subs and views each week in order to live off it, I'd do it in a heart beat!
