Joining the wrong network?

Soooo, when I joined Youtube, well, started uploading videos, I entered a You generation competition and yes got sent an invite to a network, I got super excited, and didn't realise that this was basically sent to everyone and my brother also was like ahhh this is awesome. I barely read anything into Networks and what they actually do, and just assumed (stupidly) that they helped you out, promoted you etc and I just quickly read it all over, and joined the TYG/Base79 Network, but now, reading over things, and actually reading stuff on here (been with them since julyish) I'm regretting it a lot! Just wondering if anybody has any tips? I don't think there is anyway of getting out of it, I just feel so stupid! I just wish I had waited, read into things a bit more and found this forum earlier :P Just had to get this out somewhere..so yeah

Anyone else done this or am I alone in this one?

This happened to me back when networks first popped up. I joined actually approached the network because it sounded neato and they snagged me up. Little did I know I'd lose a huge chunk of my income but it was a lesson a had to learn the hard way lol. The best thing to do is just wait out your contract, get what you can out of them and then leave under good terms then search for a network more suitable for your needs.

Hahaaa exactly what I did! I think it's because it sounded so cool (Think I hyped it up a lot in my head) and I was like awww yeah this will help so much and well :P you know! and Yeah thank you hehe

Make sure you read your contract to know when you can get out of it. By a few networks it's 3 months before contract ends etc.
Just write them a good email to release you when the time is right and when they don't do it. Sue them. :) Good luck!

I don't know what your network offers but try to get as much out of them as you can while you are still with them. Try for some promotion or graphic work or whatever they offer so you can get your contracts worth xD

Me too to be very honest.
The banner was the best thing of being a partner back then.
I remember when I got my banner I felt like I was on top of the world and it made me feel unique...what ever happened to feeling unique on Youtube :'(
