Jealousy Factor

Mr Not That Famous
Have you ever opened up a youtubers newest(Like a couple minutes old) video and realize that they have more likes on their video than you have subscribers and it made you depressed for some reason? Well i'm subscribed to pewdiepie so yea, LMFAO...I dont get depressed, i'm just using it as an example to show the severe difference in subscriber ratio.

Many have took it upon themselves to dislike other people's content for the sole purpose of disliking it, they found nothing wrong other than "They dont deserve" those likes.

Now i have seen horrible content on youtube BUT THE FANBASE IT PROVIDED WANTS THAT, so you cannot just decide someone doesn't deserve something just because you are jealous of their fanbase.

Respecting each other and working with each other is what helps us grow as a youtube community, have you experienced seemingly unprovoked hate on your channel?

I can admit that I have had this feeling many times and still do, but I never dislike a video solely because of the fact I hate that they are doing better than me.

I have no had this happen to me yet either. I'm glad, but if it does come someday I hope I'm prepared for the hate.

I agree that we as a small channel community should help each other and not hate on each other, but that won't happen because people will have those opinions. It's sad and I see fights between small channels everyday, which I try to help settle even though it is not my fight. Some channels don't deserve their recognition, but their content was noticed because some viewers actually like it and we should respect that.

Yeah it's easy to get jealous. I just keep working on my own stuff. If there ever is jealousy it's because a famous YouTuber's average/crap video will always get views/likes regardless, when smaller YouTubers might see 0 results even if they bust their a** to make an awesome video.

I was attacked I suppose? I had made a review on a video game. Most specifically "The Legend of Spyro: A New Beginning" and someone apparently watched it and disagreed with me. I personally dislike the game from beginning to end, and I tell people that in my review. I just didn't like it.

The person in question felt the need to take my video and commentate over it. One of those channels that starts drama or arguments just for the sake of doing just that. I wouldn't have minded if the person weren't so horribly rude in their video. Criticism is nice, but not when you're spouting curse words at the creator.

Right now the video in question comes up in search if you just type my name. Which is a shame, cause I don't really want it associated with my name or brand. Right now I'm working on getting more videos out to hopefully bury it in search results. At least to the second page :P

Ohh yeah, it happens.
I think the bigger you get the more hate you get. Mine started around 10,ooo subscribers. Most of the time when I post a video I get 3 - 5 dislikes immediately.[DOUBLEPOST=1424817933,1424817724][/DOUBLEPOST]

Sorry that happened to you :(
I think your approach to making more to try to bury it is good :)

It's easy to tell people to mind their own business and not compare with more 'successful' channels. Comparing is wasting time, lost energy you could have used on your own channel.

But I think it's human to sometimes look on other channels and find out they got more views in a shorter time then you. And think like: I wish I was in his/her position. I just accept my jealousy and continue with whatever I was doing :D. I'll be happy for them. And for every more successful channel there are hundreds which are less successful...

Well it only appears when you search my name. The SEO of that video isn't very good at all really. Since that video is dependent on the name of my brand to actually be seen, I just have to make more videos to eventually bury it. I have priority of the search result in that sense :P

I was going to keep making videos either way, so it's not much of a problem. It was going to go away eventually~

That's terrible mate. When a bigger Youtuber has the pick on you, it could damage reputation severely. Hope you are able to bury that vid...

The channel is smaller than me. So in a sense I don't genuinely care. I just hope he doesn't do it again. I would hate to find he has more videos just picking on me. I don't want to take action to get the video taken down, so I'd much rather hide his result from search results. SEO WILL SAVE ME.

When smaller then it's just an annoying fat fly buzzing around your face when youre eating your noodles. Just ignore it and it will go away...
