From a commentator point of view:
I'd rather have a real answer, with substance, made cause the uploader had something to say about my comment, or no answer at all, than a shallow "comment just to comment"-comment.
I get an inbox for that, heck, even an email. Don't waste my time having to check my mails on my phone for a "thanks" or something like that....
