Issue with my Subscriber Base

WeiseGamer

Your #1 Source For Indie Gaming
So I review indie games, and the majority of my subscriber base, I believe, are developers.

The issue is that developers subscribe to support me, but very few watch my videos as they are interested in their own game only.

How do I find more people interested in playing indie games that would want to watch my reviews, compared to people that make games that won't watch much?

Make sure your tags are relevant to the video and what people will want to search. Some indie game reviews will be difficult to get views before because they are normally quite obscure in the community. Try and find communities related to indie games and promote your videos saying you're reviewing those games!

Commenting on others videos for self promotion is the lowest and spam-iest thing you can do, I'm not doing that.

You don't need to self promote. Just let others know that you enjoy indie games, playing and reviewing them, without saying "come to my channel and watch my videos" because if people know you're interested in indie games, they may check out your channel, see you have content on there and may be interested in watching it.

That can be a tough one. Videos about indie games can get a lot of traffic when the game is popular or blows up, but before that it can be hard to get that traffic. Maybe you could work and collab with people who do similar things to you. It's a great way to share and grow audiences together and once you get a name for yourself and have high credibility, people will watch regardless the game being popular or not.

I agree indie games are a hit or miss. I've tried looking into collaborators but with a review, I can only think of co-reviews for collaboration.

Are there forums for indie gamers that you're a part of? I would probably start there, not just to promote your stuff, but to also develop relationships with the folks who love to talk about those things all the time anyway. It's a tricky business, promoting a specialty channel, but you really do need to go where the people who are interested in what you do are already and bring them to you.

Unfortunately I haven't found many at all. I've talked to developers about it as well and they agree there isn't a good place to go at all.
