Is YouTube Dying?

I love YouTube. I have been an active watcher since '08 and have been an active contributor on/off since 2013. In the past few years and specifically the past few months I have noticed the lack of creativity and content overall on many popular channels. The way YouTubes algorithms are now (promoting already popular channels) is really kicking down smaller channels, not only this but we see many videos being posted on other sites such as Vimeo due to YouTubes rules on nudity (God is Gangsta for ex.) I don't think Vimeo will ever take over YouTube but I do believe another video sharing site will come along that will be popular and maybe even take YouTubes crown, similar to how Twitch and Vine became really popular. Also YouTube has had many issues lately with their copyright-claiming system. Do you think YouTube is going to die out soon if ever?

I don't think YouTube is dying. In fact, I think it's probably doing better than ever before, though, officially that comes down to stats and all of that. YouTube will promote the bigger channels more because, well, simply put, they give YouTube (Google) the most money from ads.

It's a harsh way of looking at it, but, unfortunately it's true. After all, they are trying to make money and of course, as a business, the more you can make (generally), the better.

Though, they don't neglect smaller channels entirely. You just have to make sure your SEO and everything else is up to scratch, but more importantly.. you have good content that people will watch to watch.

I can't see YouTube dying out any time soon, if ever, personally.

I doubt it'll ever truly die out. It would have to be something seriously revolutionary to take its place and amount of money, time, creativity and so on that that would take make it near impossible. Problem is that people just do too YouTube when they want to watch videos. Vine and Twitch did really well because they're completely different to YouTube.

YouTube is stronger than it's ever been. The big reason these copyright issues are a bigger thing now is because there is more content being created, so inherently there will be more issues.

SEO doesn't have the effect it use to when I constantly see Leafyishere and PewdiePie videos in my sidebar

True, but, it still helps to some extent. If you did no SEO at all, I think you'd struggle. But again, it comes back to money and ads. The bigger the channel, the more money Google are likely to make, assuming that channel monetizes of course.

YouTube isn't dying that's for sure and I doubt anyone could ever take its crown, sure smaller channels find it harder to grow but I doubt that will kill YouTube since as the bigger guys leave newer guys step up

I don't think YouTube is dying, although it costs Google a lot of money to keep YouTube up to date.

Vimeo is a pretty great site for creativity and quality content but most people won't use the site because you can't monetize content as far as I know and you only have a certain amount of storage space for your videos.
There's a chance that another video site will become as popular as YouTube in the future but I don't think that YouTube will be abandoned anytime soon.
There will be new and creative talent on YouTube, we just haven't discovered their channels yet.

(SPOILER: Some of those creative talents can be found here on YTTalk)
(SPOILER: A lot of them ;^] )

Or maybe Newgrounds will become as popular as it used to be.

Newgrounds is dead lmao

And I know some of those creative talents can be found here such as myself (shameless plug ftw)
I always like to think of Vimeo as more a site for short films/music videos or more creative videos more than just a youtube vlog or commentary.[DOUBLEPOST=1459786218,1459786017][/DOUBLEPOST]

All good things die out and I am 100% sure it is going to die out whether thats when another site comes across or the internet goes out but its just a matter of when. Nobody thought newgrounds, myspace, facebook, friendster, gamespot, google answers etc. would die out but they did

Facebook? Die out? Are you sure? Haha millions of people are on that site and I'm talking like maybe in 10 years time YouTube might start to suffer but if it keeps going this way and even ironing out the problems it has I don't see it going anywhere
