Is YouTube a business to you?

I make money from my videos, though I don't pay that much attention to how much. YouTube for me is all for fun, the money is just a bonus. It doesn't bother me if I make $10 a day, or $0.10 a day
 
Definitely both. I love the idea of videos I upload making people laugh and improving their day... so much so that it would be a dream job. I don't mind putting in the time and effort, but I would love to turn this into a career someday.
 
It's both to me. Because I hope to work in the media industry, it helps me to keep current with social media trends, editing skills, and marketing. I also make some decent side money right now (pays for my car payment pretty much) so I enjoy knowing I'm getting something back financially for my time & effort. (even though I put WAY more time & effort into my videos then what I get back in money) On the other side of things, I LOVE having a YouTube where I can connect with other people so easily. I love that I can be creative & funny and have that impact people in a positive way and make their days better.

To be successful on YouTube, I think you need to have a good balance of both the business side & the creative/hobby side of things. :)
 
Well if you have a really good idea for a show, YT is great of an indie style production then.

And why not, if it is quality content, I do not care what motivation you have. And lets be honest, for ever good/decent youtube (doesnt even matter what motivation) there is a million and one of lads posting 3 minute videos of some arbitrary stuff, like a blender running and a fake nude thumbnail.

But for me personally, it is a hobby, which I am enjoying immensely :)

People better pay attention to the quality of their videos. Otherwise, their channel could suffer.
Yes, YouTube is a business for me as I quit my regular job last year. I make far more than I ever did anyway. That doesn't mean that I don't have creative expression though. The two worlds aren't necessarily distinct.
 
Definitely not! Just a hobby for me, I try to make videos that people will find entertaining (somewhat) and funny (somewhat).
 
Started as a hobby for me, and developed into a revenue stream.
Its still a hobby, don't get me wrong, but my channel is now at a stage where its making me some decent money. On top of that I have the added bonus of companies and manufacturers contacting me and sending me free stuff all the time for review! I like free stuffs!
