Is Union For Gamers (Curse) Really What It Seems? 90/10 Split?

i am currently partnered with maker studios and i dont like it very much, i keep on asking when my end date is as they updated my contract and i forgot to write it down. so far no response i really like the look of curse as i do gaming videos

Huh? You can check it on your email, you should have a copy of your contract.

well unfortunately the new contract was made months and months ago, and instead of saving a copy i deleted the email. and everything after 30 days gets permanently deleted, i dont know if i can change this setting or not. and their new support system sucks in my opinion. instead of just emailing them you got to create a ticket which may or may not get taken care of

I think the ticket system is a lot better. It's like first come first serve. I've been with them for 2 years now, and they are pretty fast on replying. Just tell them to give you another copy of your contract. They usually reply within 2-3days.

Are you still around, Boubouille?

I keep getting requests to join various networks, but don't really feel comfortable with most of them. I have been kind of interested in joining IGN, but finding info on them and how (of if it's even possible) to apply has been challenging. Curse seems like it might be another great way to go, especially with 90% of revenue and no contract.

The thing is... for the last year or so, I've had no problem monetizing my video's on my own. Yeah, I do get some automated copywrite notices, but every time I have contested them I've had the content approved (or in a few cases I'm not sure so I just let them take my ad revenue from the video.) My #1 reason for being interested in finding a partnership is to increase my subscribers, and my views. My views are pretty good, at 20,000+ per month, but my subscribership is medicore with only slightly above 200. I've hit a bit of a brick wall in growing subscribership on my own. My secondary reason, is to get some support in helping me determine what is and is not legal to upload. So far, I have no strikes against my account, but I'm no lawyer, so I've been pretty conservative on most things. This is a far second though. Third, do you offer licenses for any third party content, such as music? Most of my video's have none, but it would be nice to have the option of adding it. The main thing though, is I want to up my subscriber count.

So, how can Union for Gamers help me in this area? Thanks!

Reason #1: If you're looking to a network to grow your audience, Union for Gamers / Curse is not the place to look. Very few networks help their partners grow (and those which do will only invest their time in channels they deem as a worthwhile investment, and 20 000 monthly views wouldn't be enough for them to deem it as worth it). With the vast majority of networks, they don't help you grow at all; channel growth is often your responsibility.

Reason #2:There are MCNs out there which would help you out with what you're able and unable to upload, but I'm unsure as to whether Union for Gamers / Curse does.

Reason #3: As far as I can tell, Curse doesn't have a music library. Off the top of my head, I can think of a few networks which license out AudioMicro's music and sound effects library for their partners to use: Maker, Zoomin, the Illuminata MCNs (Music Nations, Creation Nation, Forela Digital, etc.), Age of Media, Freedom, Fullscreen, Bent Pixels, Machinima, AdRev.
I believe that the networks which provide access to Epidemic sound's music library are: Base79, Broadband TV, ChannelFlip, Freedom, Maker, MediaKraft, Studio 71, TubeOne, Creative Nation.

If you're looking for a high revenue share with no lock-in and a decent music library, I suggest looking at Creative Nation rather than Curse. As you're looking for the network to work with you on growing your channel, perhaps a Creative Nation Virtual Network would be better suited to you. @Shane.C any CN VN recommendations for WildKarrde?

I'm kind of at a loss as to what networks are for. =\ My understanding is that they used to be able to help you get (and keep) your video's monetized without the hassle of audits, but this is only possible now if you are a managed partner. If you're an associate, you go through the same auditing process. So without channel growth, what's really the point of a network? Especially when it comes to gaming, since the majority of the time music or other copyrighted material outside of the game are not essential to the creating of our video's.

Maybe it's because I didn't start getting serious about YouTube until after all the policies were changed... but for all the research I've done on networks I can't find a good enough reason to give away a percentage of my earnings (or risk being involved with a shady outfit that might not even pay me) when I've handled copyrights pretty well on my own so far.

I am in thinking to Join this Network(Curse). But i am not sure..
I am already partnered with ZoomIntv Games and i am very disappointed by them.
It started all from 2015, My earning went to very low, for 25kviews /m i get around 8-9$.. in 2014 it was more money than Views (35k views, +40$).
In December 2014 i made 44$ and in January 2015 just 18$?? and decreasing.
Here is a picture of one of my videos and it shows earning in 2014-2015 and views.

Overall income on YouTube is down. That has nothing to do with your network and will be the same wherever you go.

As for your figures, typically December is the highest paying month of the year (by far) and January is the lowest... so your comparison is meaningless.

Networks use Adsense for their ads... so, unless you're a huge channel gaining millions of views a month, your net ad revenue will be the same with (or without) a network. The only difference is the amount the network will take as their cut.
