Is Twitter really important?

I saw that many youtubers who have 100 000 subs, have in their facebook page only 5000. How come their subs dont like the fanpage too?

Facebook is the new Myspace. It is pretty much dying it. Twitter is a lot easier to engage people. Tweets just need to be clever though. I have noticed friends on my Facebook post %75 less compared to a few years ago but tweet a lot more on a daily basis.
I dont know if I agree. I think FB goes through lulls and drops. There isn't another social media site that has the same amount of interaction as FB yet. I think it is one of those things that the older you get, the less you use it because of life and not wanting to put everything out there. I used it everyday when I was in college but now I am lucky to get on once a week now that I have graduated. Twitter is easy to post something quick and you don't have to worry about the large amount of crab that gets posted but hardly anyone I know uses that outside of sharing pictures that go on Instagram too.

Interesting since everyone I know seems to have moved over. I guess it depends on the people tbh

I'm on Facebook for most of the day every day, because I talk to my boyfriend while he's at work and I have lots of friends across the pond, we have groups and stuff between ourselves on their and it helps us stay in touch.

I have started using Twitter now as well though, it's definitely better than Facebook for sharing things around

I've noticed this too, and it's precisely why I haven't created a Facebook 'page' for my channel yet. I have nearly 2,000 subscribers, but I predict only roughly 50-100 of them would 'like' my page and I don't see the point in that. I might make a page when my channel grows more...

Meanwhile, on Twitter I have nearly 1,400 followers - and they're all real followers because I never did 'follow for follow' and I myself follow way fewer people who follow me!

I don't think twitter is that important. I have more followers than subscribers, but none of my followers are subscribers.

I find it's much easily for people to find you on Twitter, especially when you are really small, but that's just me.

If you use social media simply as a way to drop your YouTube content onto it, they won't grow. Every social media is popular for their own unique ways and you have to treat them differently. For me Twitter is a microblog with a way to communicate with businesses and celebrities. I would snatch up the handle before someone else does so you have it and not go through the hassle of explaining the username you had to take. As mentioned you can also take advantage of hashtags. At an event people were finding me and they would see my face before I met them.

I find twitter simple, and easy to connect with a lot of people, and I don't use facebook to advertise my videos. I find that people are often more active on twitter, and it's easier to find people who like the types of videos I post, or who have similar interests as me that may want to check out my channel.
