Sorry if this shouldn't be posted here.

I made this intro along with a template for my travel vlog. It can be changed uniquely for each video. The zoom in is of actual google earth.

Is this intro too long even though it can be edited for each individual video? Your overall opinions?

Intro 15~20 seconds

0-3sec (Short talking intro for the video, this was a green screen test for a video "Yun Long Mountain")
3-18sec Location based intro (will be slightly different according to location. (Intro for a video "Lao Shan")
19+ starts video with voice overlay

EDIT.
Sorry, I didn't realize I couldn't post a link to the intro. Please delete

It could in principle work depending how exactly it's executed. Without seeing an example I would still suggest to cut it down.

Yeah, 20 seconds can feel like a lifetime when you're waiting to find out if a video is good or not. I reckon a lot of people will click off within 10 seconds if they haven't seen any content yet. A longer intro could work in theory if you have a quick section of content before it as a hook. My intro is about 2-3 seconds long and I wouldn't want to push it any longer.

Thanks for the input. I don't think I can shorten it anymore, but I'm starting to think it's less of an intro now..

Yeah, I'd call that a "bit" rather than an intro. Since it's specific to each video, it should be fine. What I would say is, break it into sections (i.e The spoken bit, the zoom out, the zoom in etc) and decide what bits really add value. If you decide they all do, that's totally fine, but just avoid filler for the sake of filler. I like the bit, for what it's worth ;)

Ok thanks a bunch! I personally want to keep it, but I definitely feel that long intros can bore me as well.. so I wasn't too sure on others' opinions.. Thanks for the advice again.

You could completely get rid of the zoom out at the end of the intro. The rest could be sped up by about 10%.

1) In terms of design, the intro is really good, but it is too long.
Here are some suggestions which I think would work nicely:

> For your actual intro have the first 7 seconds (you going to X place, and the name of the location). You don't want to be going over 8, that is pushing it. 22 people will be clicking off. My own intro is on the long side, but I think because it is visually interesting like yours it can get away with being longer.
> You can split your intro from 0:09 - 0:14 and have it inside the video if you need something to break up the video (e.g. a time jump or something)
> 0:17 to the end, the zoom out, would make a good outro and you can put credits, other stuff to click on etc.

That way you get all the visuals in, spread out through the video, putting in the professional look without overloading people at the start. People click on the video because they want to watch it, not to see an intro. :)

THAT WAS SUCH A WELL MADE INTRO

If you did that from scratch good job! Really!

It was perfect in my opinion. Although the music was a bit meh.
