That's a very good point. Obsessed fans would always watch the ad. At the same time, I feel like it can be see as a conflict of interest.

I refuse to join a network (I'm with AdSense only), but depending on how you calculate CPM, I'm definitely earning more than $10 CPM on at least one of my channels (on all three, again depending on how you calculate).
 
The more I went through this thread, the more awesome the situation sounded.

That's rad as hell, being in an ad on your own channel, through one way or another. That's kinda awesome, plus @SuckMyDax brought up a very, very good about the whole, people watching the ad if the YouTuber they're wanting to watch is in there. I didn't even think about that, but that's an awesome... I guess marketing scheme, if that's indeed the way they thought about it.

We've entered the milky way, folks.
 
If it wasn't a coincidence and he got it to play on his own videos. I find this completely unfair because he gets better leverage than other youtubers who possibly work harder than him

Unfair? First off, life isn't fair. Some people benefit from chance.
Secondly, working harder doesn't mean working smarter.

In this case, TYT is a major player in the online space.
