Gaming Is this a thing?

I've Got It
Do people collab on singleplayer games at the same time and just do comparisons along the way or at the end? One of my favorite Youtubers in his channel's infancy did a series on Pokemon FireRed at the same time as someone else did LeafGreen. They uploaded their playthroughs at the same time and compared as they went and at the end who had the stronger team.
Is this a thing and is it still considered a collab?
Is anyone interested in trying this with Yellow, Red, or Blue if they need a series?

Personally, I see this as a collab because you are both playing the game and sharing information from each other. The only difference is that the other uploader's character is not actually in game with you. Let me know, what you all think.

Collaboration is not necessarily "we do a video together". It can be as simple as giving shout outs to each other, so that both can grow using the other's fanbases, and to keep the viewer on YouTube :)
So yes, doing parallel play-troughs and referring to each other and comparing is very much a collab ;)

If I did something like that, I would rather have both games shown on the same video.

This thing is also called a Versus, I know about a few people that does this, but never really herard about it being done that way, I usally see a splitscreen

I've seen it done on a few scary games like Amnesia. with Yamimash and Markiplier, it was good.

Why not do that if you want to do it, I'm sure you will get a lot of attention in this thread, or if you create another and go with the specifications as to what you want, I'm sure there is someone out there that would love to do that type of thing.

I think I will. Hopefully someone will want to try it out with me. I plan to start recording on the Yellow series Wednesday night regardless.

This has been done numerous times although I have to agree with TinyLunchbox I'd prefer it on the same videos. Just makes it seem simpler as you both talk on Skype. Although your method if people enjoy it will probably have higher view exchange between the two.
