Is this a decent MCN deal?

its a worst deal i ever heard and don't go for it
normally in the market 70% is the minimum share for youtube owners and remaining is the networks

My general tips for joining a MCN is don't join unless you absolutely need to and make sure that there is a no lock in contract or a very short one.

Most importantly though don't just join one thinking that they will magically make your channel grow, they most likely won't unless you are a big channel.

Thank you. I needed to hear this, as this is all very new to us.

Yes, that's what I am gathering, and quite honestly it does not surprise me, as this offer came from a culture that is use to bartering. Very glad that I asked here, as this is our first experience with an MCN.

Thank you![DOUBLEPOST=1427125006,1427124816][/DOUBLEPOST]
No... please do not let any network keep you in over than a year... You might blow up over night and your still stuck with 35%...

Thanks! I appreciate this advice. Their 2 year term was part of why I was asking, as that seemed awfully long to me, without knowing what it was like working with them.

The question is, what is the network doing to earn their share of the revenue?

A very good question. In this case that would be opening us to an audience in China, which would most definitely be valuable, but a 2-year contract with having had no experience with them makes me quite nervous.

You're an English-speaking channel. You're going to give up a large percentage of your earnings to target a non-English speaking country. That doesn't make any sense.

No, I agree. From what I have now learned about MCNs - the percent here is ludicrous, and not one I would make a deal on. As for being English speaking, I have also been doing my research into the Chinese market, and from friends there, I understand that they lap up quirky English language content, which we definitely fall into.
