Is this a bad idea?

I just did an impression video on my channel. Would be a bad idea to go to the channels and comment that I did an impression of them?

No its a good idea to comment on their channel, if by happenstance they saw it out of all the comments they could watch it

You should aim your videos at a specific target audience. If you haven't found that audience then look in to the demographics and find out the ages and genders of your viewers, then find sites that are mostly populated by that target demographic.

It would be annoying and pretty obvious you were trying to gain attention at their expense. It´s not that much different than commenting "please, check ouy my channel". It´s annoying and sounds needy. Not the best way to gain views or subscribers.

Don't flood the comment section with the URL of your video. People don't read it, and it could be marked as spam.

Send the makers straight an email that you did that. If you're lucky they might watch it....
