Is there no way to leave BBTV/TGN while in a lock-in contract?

I've Got It
Fairly stupid question, yeah. In March of 2013 I signed with TGN for their original contract. Everything went fairly smoothly. In September 2013 I was asked to sign a longer, 2-year lock-in contract. I figured since my experience hadn't been too bad during my time, I went for it.

Soon after I started noticing just how awful the network actually was. When I got to compare my own RPM with others I saw just how low mine is. When I got in contact with support I noticed a hostility and general unhelpfulness.
It dawned on me that I do not want part in this network anymore. I want to get out.
I'd literally do anything to get out and sign with another network - except of course deleting my channel. Not worth it given my subcount.

So, yeah, back to the fairly dumb question - I want to get the hell out of this 2-year lock in. Is there no way at all? Am I just screwed for another 1 ½ years?

Unless they've violated the contract in any way, then not legally. Might just have to stick it out for the next 1 1/2 years and then look for a new network.

Maybe try and contact them and express your concerns and ask if they'll cancel the contract on good terms?

Your earnings aren't going to exactly go up just by going to another network, so it's not like that's just because of Broadband.

You have to really fight with support. Say something like "Then why is it I know people that have been unlinked instantly? What kind of favoritism is going on here?"

Maria will probably see that, get p****d off (because she in fact does bend the rules for some people), and just unlink you. Let me know what happens. GL

I have two buddies who have motorcycle channels that were with BBTV and they both successfully left early. The money that they were generating with BBTV was fractions of fractions less than with Adsense. They contacted support and told them that they would like to be released. They then got to the point where they started public ally reaching out to them (twitter, etc). Started making snarky comments and tagging them in it. They then sent them a message saying that they will be making a video about how bad this network is and exposing their experience unless they were let go. They both got out of BBTV this way.

One had around 30k subs at the time and the other had around 50k.

TL;DR - Gotta threaten them even though that's not the moral thing to do since you signed a contract that you willingly agreed to.

I agree that this is probably your best bet, and honestly if their network sucks then you have all the right to tell people about it. I would do exactly as said here if I were looking to get out of a contract early. I don't understand how big networks want to get positive word around about them by offering terrible service. Makes no sense.

You know, I'm in a similar situation myself with BBTV_Gaming. I thought it'd be a pretty good idea, but now I feel that I've made a large mistake, and want to leave for similar reasons. I've noticed a bit of unhelpfulness myself when I contacted support. After a while, I figured I'd might as well just wait out the rest of the term.
Anyhow, I wish you luck in your current situation.

I have to say, I'm kind of tempted to try this myself, haha.

The problem with that is despite signing a contract, no 1 ever knows 100% how they'll be treated until they join and get a feel for the network. You might see a network where people are liking it alot then join yourself only to be treated unequally. This is part of the reason why I'm very skeptical of joining networks despite seeing good reviews for some, knowing my luck I'd get the s**t end of the stick. This isn't just something that happens with YouTube networks it can happen with almost any company that provides a service. So sometimes you have to look out for yourself. Nothing morally wrong about intimidating a network who is treating you wrong.

My earnings CPM went high when I joined a different network and left bbtv :p

BBTV is a bad network. Trying to lock users into 3 year contracts with 60% is the lowest of the low. One of the worst networks I have ever seen. I had an old channel that I partnered with them a while back. Just wish they would unlink it......

Seriously one of the worst networks there is. EVERY network should care about their partners because they are the ones who are making them the money. The network is meant to work for the partners. But taking 40% and locking channels in for 3 years and offering very little in return for such a high cut and lock-in is seriously terrible.
