Is the threshold easy to reach?

What is Dota 2, anyway?

I've passed threshold at least 12 times since I partnered in 2012. I've also grown my channel to over 20 times the size it was at the time I signed my contract. I think the problem here is that there are so many gaming and Let's Play channels out there, that the market is totally glutted, and people are getting tired of seeing user gaming content. The viewing time per video just isn't there any more, and under those circumstances less money is being generated per channel.

I checked out the new Gaming YouTube the other day; and you know what? It's full of game development companies and their news feeds, instead of users and their gameplay videos!

Game.YouTube.com is like a miniature E3, and it is my guess the advertisers who were formerly paying for user-generated content are going to move to the new platform, abandoning the Let's Players and gaming tips channels.

I really, really hope I am wrong here; but I truly think it is time to stop blaming the networks for low income rates and find a new content base people will really get interested in. User-created gaming content may be about to die as a money-maker.
So true, the YouTube now-a-days is full of gaming videos and is not as easy as it was years ago.

it seems to depend on virality! i made about 8 videos that reached about 200k views and they made me reach my threshhold allot of times. if ur a lets player just take you time to perfect your videos and the more you will grow, the more views u will get and the more income u will make!
