Is the "Community" tag a new feature?

Take a look under the banner of your channel on your home page.

Underneath the banner you will have the following tags:

You will also have "Channelytics" if you are a member of Tube Buddy.

However...on Roberto Blake's channel he also has another tag called "Community" that allows him to post comments and invite conversation without actually posting a video. Its a very cool feature, every time he posts a comment I get a notification on the little bell sign at the top of my screen.

I checked out the pages of a couple of other big you tubers. Derral Eves does not have this feature, but Tim Schmoyer does.

Does anybody know how you qualify to unlock this feature? It would be a very cool thing to have on my channel, I could really use it a lot!
 
Yes, it a cool feature and it's still in Beta, so you have to ask for it to have it enabled. Some popular channels use it, some not. You can read more about it in the post I made about it, when I got it to my channel:

I don't know what are the requirements for qualification for it. One requirement you must have for sure is Patience. I have waited several months for approval.
 
Like Hirudov said that option is still in Beta. It is still under development and when they did all testing eventually all the channels will have community tab. I didn`t know that we can apply for it? I asked one developer who is working on that feature and he said it was given to random users willing to participate in the testing. I found it also on some smaller channels like 3000 subs. So I guess it was luck. But I will try also to apply for it, I will check Hirudov thread now.
 
@Hirudov @UnboxingSve that is super interesting information.

After I posted this I went back and checked some other channels, actually the Community tag is not an additional tag, but replaces the "Discussion" tag. Even so, it is a new feature and a really useful one.

I guess I'll wait until it's out of Beta testing and then give it a go!
