Is sticking to one genre good or bad for channel?

I've only seen one channel successfully cover multiple subjects. That is Roberto Blake. He covers marketing, graphic design, camera reviews, phone reviews, YouTube tutorials, and business development. I think that's quite a broad range and there are videos of his I will never watch because they aren't relevant, but I am still a sub and have notifications on.

It can work if you produce huge amounts of excellent content
