Is someone botting my videos?

ExperimentalHDX

United we stand. Divided we fall.
Hi all, I'm beginning to think that my videos are being view-botted by an unknown user. Reason being a yttalk user pointed out that 95% of my videos are capped at 301+ views and then accused me of botting my videos (which I can honestly say I simply do not). I am obviously aware of this as my old channel with 1.7 million views and just under 2k subs (which is still growing even though it's last upload was over a year ago) has annotations on its videos leading to my new channel, ExperimentalHDX, resulting in a significant amount of views coming from that channel. What I do is let the featured videos on ExperimentalHDX get to the 301 cap then I will change the featured video and as a result each video gets its turn getting views.

This is not the problem, I noticed that on the Geography tab of the analytics page, Russia ranks 3 on the top locations where my views come from. This alarms me because I read a thread on the forum in which it highlighted Russia as the main source of botted views.

Am I just paranoid or should I genuinely be concerned? Could I simply have a nice Russian audience who enjoy viewing my videos or is my channel being targeted?

Helpful inputs will be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

Hard to say without being able to look in your analytics. It should be possible, but I mean I am getting quite some Russian views too, but that is because electronic music is quite popular in Russia nowadays so maybe it's the same for you?

Seems really interesting. Maybe someone really really really likes your videos that much ;)

Having your channel at risk of being terminated due to an unknown source isn't a great feeling.[DOUBLEPOST=1377790888,1377790822][/DOUBLEPOST]

That would make sense actually due to the royalty free songs with audio-visual effects I've been putting up.

I doubt it's botting, as that tends to give you thousands of views. What's happening with yours is that the 'real' view count is under 301, and youtube is waiting until the real count is over that before it updates. Check your analytics, that'll give you the real count.

Well how many subscribers do you have? And don't forget, people pass through videos and view them, it could be that

37, and yeah, I hope so.

I wish YouTube would just display the real view count everywhere.

Yeah it is annoying; I've had anything up to 3 different view counts depending on what page I looked at. All thats happened with your vids is that someone has refreshed them over and over to get it to 301+ but the real views are probably around 150 or something.

Ah, I know exactly who's done that. It all started with a Skype call when I said I needed a certain amount of views to get into Zoomin.TV, it was then that a friend of mind tried to help me. Thanks for all of the replies.
