Is sex a sensitive topic on youtube?

Niru

someone or something, idk man
So besides lacey green who else really talks about sex and all thingss related on youtube?
I mean many people are interested in it, i would say there is a demand for it but not many do it.

Is it a sensitive subject?

I think your question depends on the audience. I mean if you're watching FilthyFrank, you're going to be expecting some sexual humor (especially if you're subscribed to him), and this case sex is "okay." However, if you're watching Numberphile and sex topics come about, then it's a sensitive topic because people are looking for math related videos, not sex. Therefore, get to know your audience if you're wondering what's okay or not okay. For example, I uploaded a video about my laptop breaking, and I cussed a lot in that video. Then a day or two later I got a lot of dislikes. I know the cussing was the issue because my video was structured the same way as my other videos but with a lot more cussing. Now I know that my audience is sensitive to curse words. Another way you can determine what is a "touchy" subject is by looking at your demographics and determine what age group you're targeting.

I tend to either discuss it in vlog style videos or lightly in sketch comedy. I tend to have an older audience, but still I'm super careful in choosing my words, without compromising myself too much.

I made 2 videos with animated sex jokes (not graphic, pg at best). Both of them got an age gate warning a month later. Then I got a strike for one, disputed, and got an age warning again. Then another community strike, and another appeal and another gate placement. After that I decided it's not worth it and made the videos unlisted (they don't earn revenue once age gated).

It is as sensitive a subject as it is in any other medium. Some people couldn't care less, and others will run far far away.

Eh.... it's a touchy issue for me too. While my videos aren't 100% kid-friendly, I do have swearing and might say stuff like 'whoa Megan Fox got a nice a**', I kinda draw the line at really going into heavy sexual discussion or humor. I might make the comment on Megan, but I wouldn't go on a long-winded vlog over what I'd exactly I'd like to do to her in explicit detail. I really don't think that kind of thing has a place on my channel. Like I don't want the channel rated G per say but my stuff shouldn't be NC-17 or R either.

There is a sex talk video with Sam Pottorf and Sawyer Hartman. Jc Caylen and Kian Lawley have done dirty Q&As that have gotten pretty raunchy. I know that there are other youtubers that may have one or two videos taking the subject more seriously. It has been done before and I suppose depending on the kind of channel you have and your audience, you could talk about it whenever

Yeah my audience (such as it is) probably wouldn't be expecting that kind of thing on my channel. I also know most of my co-stars would feel weird or awkward if I told them to film a vlog about raunchy humor.
