Is sending your subs a pm with saying that yu uploaded a new vid wrong?

well see I personally wouldn't do what Lawlz is doing, which is just suddenly send them all my videos without asking. I plan on adding them all as contacts, then sending them all an explanation as to why, and telling them if they don't want any of my videos in their inbox to just remove me from their contacts list. This is no different than asking someone if they'd like to join a mailing list or something is it not?
 
No i meant my subs .-. I add my subs as a contact and then send them a message if i uploaded a vid :) I also notice pples adding me as their contact without me even knowing them O.o Whats the point of that? xD

I think the point of that is that they're adding you to create a big Youtube mailing list, that they can spam to get views.

And personally, when people send me unsolicited emails, or spam, I report it as spam. If I want to know when you next release a film, I'll subscribe.

Maybe you'll get away with it, but I'd be very careful about being flagged as a spammer on Youtube!
 
lolz pples xD I meant that i add my subs as a contact to notify them ^_^ Im not saying "Watch my vid. U subbed me so watch and leave a like and a comment pls." I ask them first if they want to get some messages from me saying i uploaded a new vid ;) I also maybe ask for some feedback on my vid if im not very confident bout it xD That barely happens ;) And i do something back for my subs ^_^ If they want me to watch a vid from theirs and MAYBE want some feedback from me i do that ^_^ I dont want to force every1 to watch my vids xD I ask them furst and then i wait for replies .-. Its not like imdesperate for views/subs xD I just want pples to freely enjoy my content :) Without any forcing ;)

Not quite the same thing, in that you're putting them in your mailing list without their permission, and saying "if you don't want to be in my mailing list, opt out." That's kinda what email spammers do too :-)

Like I said to Lawlz, if I want to be emailed when you next release a video, I'll subscribe. :-)

At the very least, it's a pushy marketing trick, and it might work, but it might also backfire, and you want to be sure of the risks as well as the gains...?

But i only add my subs to my mcontacts and no strangers xD Subs only and i dun rlly feel like sending it to strangers ;) That would be a bit desperate xD
