Is Pinterest Helpful?

Posting Mad!
Does anyone use Pinterest to market their videos? If so, how's it going? Do you see pinterest in your Analytics?

Regardless, I just made a "board" of all my videos on my Pinterest account. For the descrip I just pasted the video title and a little bit of what I put in the description of the video on YouTube. We'll see how it goes. If anyone's interested, I can update others on whether or not it becomes a helpful avenue. :thumbsup2:

Here's my story on Pinterest as I would like to share my lessons learned lol
When I first started my channel I would search for similar content to a video that I would do and would comment all over the place (not proud of this) and mention that I have a similar video and post my link. When I did this I received ALOT of traffic, however I also got reported and had my account disabled :redface2:

What i do now.......There is an option to create a "business account". This account lets you track analytics so it gives you an idea of how much traffic you are getting. I play by the rules and just simply post my videos and TAG it ALOT so it gets picked up. I have to admit though I rarely get traffic but I plan on being more active and commenting on other people's posts but NOT posting my video link, just enough to engage with others to get them to click into my profile.

I hope this helps, let me know if you learn any new tips on this.

this is wonderful information, thank you so much for sharing your experience! i can definitely learn from this as well. :)

I'm trying to put some videos on Pinterest, but it hasn't generated much traffic. I don't really have the time to really build up a following. It seems like to get anywhere you have to constantly be pinning stuff.

For whatever reason, the embedded views from Pinterest just don't show up in the embedded views section of the analytics. I've watched my own videos through Pinterest for testing purposes. The overall view count does go up, but it doesn't seem to register that it's from Pinterest.

Do you mean that you've commented through your Pinterest account? I didn't quite get the point about using business profile...Could you please post a screenshot and explain further?

I commented on other people's pins in their accounts, the pins were not pinned into my account. So I do no recommend doing that as people will report you.

Concerning the business account, it looks more professional having that account. I attached a screenshot. The only difference is below your name it lets you add your link to the channel or website. So that way people know that you have a business (a.k.a. channel) that you are promoting. And the bonus to that is it lets you track your analytics. Hope that helps,

I haven't tried Pinterest either, I don't know if my content would fit there! I'm sure it's a viable option though! Doesn't hurt to try.
