Is Monetization worth it?

I remember monetizing from the beginning of my channel but I made sure to only enable the overlay ads. It made pennies but I don't think people cared much coz everyone has those kinds of ads everywhere on YouTube.

But I did start enabling all ads when I got to 200-300 views a day as an experiment because I wanted to see the difference in views myself. I didn't see a decrease in views, so I kept it on.

Are you saying this like it's a good thing or bad thing? Subs aren't everything, you get paid for views, not subs. When I made over $100 in one day for one video, I think I was barely past 100 subs. I monetized when I had 1 subscriber and started counting pennies.

Yes, definitely monetize.

It's no different to having adverts on web pages.

I have both, and YT asked me to monetize my videos very early in the piece.

If people want to watch/are interested in your videos then adverts at the beginning won't make any difference at all.

It's all about the content.

I'm going to go against most people and say that if you're planning on monetising in the future, monetise now.

People will sit through advertisements, or at least - I monetised from the start and have good retention and no complaints from anyone. People are more likely to quibble if you transition from no ads to ads than if you have them used to ads from the start.

Also, you're providing free content for others, provided you own all the rights, why shouldn't you monetise?

So... monetise!

All my videos are monetized since the very beginning and I don't think it hurt my channel.
For now you can't use nonskipable ads anyway and I don't think the other kind of ads actually annoy people.
Consider, that you have to make 100$ until you get it payed out.
