Is Machinima that bad? Can I loose partnership?

I've Got It
Hello Everyone,

So I got accepted for partnership with Machinima, before I sign the contract I just want to know; are Machinima that bad? I heard that all those people quit and all that but a lot of my favourite YouTubers are still with Machinima so it musn't be too bad. I also want to know if I can loose partnership if I don't keep uploading or mantain a certain about of views per day?

Thanks,
Gunnishone

Whether Machinima is good or bad is an opinion based question and although I've heard many bad things about them lately I have never been partnered with them so cannot comment from personal experience. As for taking away your partnership due to lack of views, its unlikely they would do this and if they could do this it would have to be stated in some way in the contract so read through it thoroughly.

I'm with them and have no issues. The people that left were the people who had their CPM lowered, it has nothing to do with te big picture of the company. As for removal of partnership for not uploading, read your contact

I've looked through my entire contract didn't find anything saying I'll be un-partnered if I become in-active. APunkGaming, did yours say anything about it? Everything at Machinima looks pretty good to me, I'll do a bit more research and keep checking in here but if I don't find anything too bad I'll be signing this contract tonight!

Those bigger partners were removed for :
i) They were given ridiculous fixed CPMs that Machinima was losing money with (they`re a business not a charity)
ii) All the good ads had to go towards keeping the fixed CPM partner`s CPMs up, so rev-share contracts got bad CPMs.

Lately, they`ve been average, rev-share partners now get good enough CPMs and they seem to have got over the idea that ignoring their partners was good  and are quite active on twitter and as a supportive network now. They can also provide you with a bit of brand recognition from those 11 yr olds who are like "OMG" if they see a Machinima logo on a channel.

Mine did not, I was fully against that. Also, unless you stream on Twitch, select the YouTube only option. You make more money on VOD live streams. I really like their support as well, and their music sources are very solid

Thanks for the info everyone!

I do stream on Twitch so I guess I'll have to choose the other option. Also, APunkGaming, how long did it take for you to get partnered after you sign the contract?

Thanks,

It took about 2 weeks for the thing to appear on my Dashboard to join, just because of tax forms. And that is correct, it's a 3 year lock in. You may want to try negotiating.
