Also in regards to charging people, that's a whole different kettle of fish... Aside from ensuring that the music is usable, you also have to show off your technical knowledge, make sure that you are reputable, broaden your repertoire, work out rates, etc.
Charging for music requires a LOT of planning to make sure both you and the buyer are covered.
