Is it weird to try so hard?

I've Got It
So near the end of August I decided I would try to make at least one video every week for a year. So far I've been keeping up with it. However, I noticed I've been trying harder to make videos rather than study for school. I feel like its really affecting me whether its a good thing or a bad things it is surely affecting with my studies. Is it weird? Should I do something about it?
I just wanted make this thread to let my feelings out because I know it would be bad for me to keep these feelings all bottled up. If you have any bottled up feelings you want to share feel free to post it here. Pretty sure everyone will be able to relate to some degree :D

I can definitely see the pressure to put out a lot of videos, because it seems like that is one of the keys to success, but if it is affecting your studies you should probably tone it down a bit!

Videos can be made anytime, but studies are pretty limited. I would focus on school and make less videos until you have more free time. Maybe hit the holiday videos extra hard?

I am going to school right now too, and the second my studies get hectic I'm taking a break from vids.

I used to do weekly uploads. I think I survived 2 months before I had to change the way I make content drastically. It's just not realistic unless you have way too much time on your hands. Half of the videos I released during that time are Unlisted now because they were crap I just released to have content that week, my heart wasn't in it, and the video quality suffered a lot because of it.

It's way more important to release consistently good quality content than have a schedule. There are plenty of extremely successful channels that don't have a set schedule and just make the best thing they can, even if it takes months (like JonTron).

Once your channel is successful and you can consider it an income, you can make a schedule (because literally you're getting paid for that time you're setting aside) but if your channel is small it's not worth killing yourself over a handful of views that aren't going to really grow your channel much. It's better to spend that time promoting your best videos and continuing to make really high quality stuff that will attract more viewers.

I think enjoyment is the absolute key factor in making YouTube videos. If you feel its negatively affecting you, then the video quality will eventually be affected too.

Make videos because you WANT to, not because you HAVE to. Think long term. Which is more likely to get you a career? School or YouTube? I think we all know the answer.

Good luck with your studies!
