It can help get a little extra subs and views but I dont think its toooo good.
(in my experience anyway)
I have like 2k instagram followers, but 296 subscribers. I know some of them subscribers have come from instagram tho, but not everyone on my instagram is interested enough to check out my channel.
I've found if i befriend my followers and communicate with them they end up checking out my youtube channel sooner or later c:
and the constant interaction helps them stick around and be more dedicated viewers in the long run.
The thing that sucks is that you can't put links in your captions of insta posts!;-; (well, you can but they arnt clickable).
Little tips tho;
- use your instagram to interact with your audience
- use appropriate tags
- find insta accounts like yours to befriend and support each other c:
- maybe allow them to be 'apart' of your channel? request videos ideas or something alike

To answer your question on how to grow your YT-channel. Well instagram is helpfull but not effective enough. People follow eachother, not a big thing. What I would do on Instagram (what I do, is to add a teaserr trailer of your original Youtube video) Check my instagram for an example [ dano_doctor ] Im not that active on Instagram, you'll see haha. But, the teaser trailer helped me to get extra views. And to answer your real question on how to get more subs etc. The more viewtime, comments, consistency, social sharing the more Youtube puts your channel out there, the higher the chance on subs. So its all about patience and hard work. Encourage people to comment down below, encourage them to share. Thats how I found out I started to get more views and more traction, even though Im still a small channel. You already got a high quality setup, so keep it up. Maybe look for some variation in content (art-related) just to get some viewers from different interest areas. Good luck and sorry for the long post! haha.
