Is it our content? Lack of promotion? Luck? Need Help!!

Hey everyone its ashley this time :)

I just want some genuine advice please... I am asuming most people reading this will be aware of who myself and Kelly are so no promotion here I promise haha.

I want some help in terms of growth... or lack of it I guess. We are very new to youtube so I am not trying to moan here I just want a little advice. We are about 3 weeks into it I think. I see loads of people have reached over 150/200 and some even 500+ subs by now and just want to know if this is down to us being unlucky? Which I dont think it is. Or if this is just how it goes? I cant seem to get my videos on the first page of relevant searches to my videos either. I have done so much work on my tags and extra titles and key words and stuff but I just cant seem to get anyone to find our content.

Or is it the content hats the problem? I would love to take some honest critique of our newest upload if you think its my content.

Please anyone, help us with this haha :D

Well to be honest you have quite a few more subs than myself and I've been at it for a while longer than you but from my experience with my channel I think it could be with promoting your channel because I am not good at it at all so that may the reason of the slow growth but just keep at it and I am sure you will grow:)

Also, while you might think your growth is slow for a few weeks, consider there are other channels that haven't even reached where you are. You have almost as many subs as I do, and I've been doing this for 8 months...

Comparing your channel's success to others is kinda pointless. You just have to find your own audience that likes the stuff you make, not worry about how everyone else is doing, or it'll drive you insane.

Also, all you have are Disney videos. As you make more content on different topics, you'll attract interest from a variety of people eventually, you just have to branch that out (unless you're planning on only making a Disney channel? lol)

Last thing, this is super minor and doesn't really matter, but black text on photos for your thumbnails is particularly ugly IMO.

Do not complaint about your subscribers you are doing way better than me and I have had my channel for over a year. Don't pay attention to that. Do pay attention to your audience retention! That will tell you exactly where to improve your vids. The only suggestion I have is to break it down. Try to keep your vids under 2 mins. It seems that you have content for several videos. One vid per park maybe? Also don't just put tags in the tag section. For some unknown reason it works better for me when I put some key words in the description, I put them way below where they won't show up to the reader. Before you do all that try doing a search first this will bring up other videos similar to yours. If you look in their descriptions you'll notice that the key words will be in bold, use those. What I often do is go into their comments and see if they have tags I haven't thought of. Also, do variations of the search and repeat. Good luck![
 
Each channel has their own pace. I was on 150 for years, like 4 - 5 years xD and now I'm over 40k, if theres an audience for your content, they will come eventually.

I think it's less you being unlucky, and more those few you see being super lucky :) 500 subs in weeks is ridiculously fast growth.

Focus on your content first and foremost, and try and answer all comments you can, new viewers want to see you have their interest.

You need the energy and drive to deliver the same quality of content to 10 sunscribers, than you would to 1 million. :) hope this helps, and stick at it!

Dunno man. Your latest video is good enough to watch. You are able to put some emotion in your latest vid. I find that video becoming more interesting then your other videos. I find the quality of your latest vid a lot better than your previous ones. They were all low-resolution and blurry. Not something I would watch at I think if you keep the quality of your latest video, I think you will gain more views.

In general... There should be like added value in your videos. I mean, I can go with a camera outside and film what I'm doing outside and what I'm doing. Are people going to sit down behind their computers and watch that?

There should be some distinctive aspects in your video to keep people engaged. To be honest I feel your latest video is able to do that. Getting some emotion into it and feeling the way the procrastinators feel. Try to find out what works best for you. And look for the reasons why people should watch you.

Next point: Your channel is just 1 month old. Your channel seem to have some kind of traction, there are enough Youtubers who don't even get this traction in a year.

You seem to be worried about trying to rank as high as possible in the Youtube search. It's hard to compete with usual keywords between all those million videos. There's no reason to think that your video will show up when searching for common words like florida, disney, dolphin, proposal disney, goofy wedding daisy duck. None of them are niche keywords.

To get ranked higher I feel this is the formula for a video: total minutes watched * audience retention * secret Youtube formula = ranking. So: Try to keep your viewers engaged, getting a higher audience retention. so you can slowly but surely crawl up the Youtube rankings.

Now last part patience. Like some mentioned; Rome isn't built in one day. You have had your first quality video, and your channel is just a month old. You need to get those videos out the next few months to gain any traction. And try to be consistent. People need to see some kind of story between the videos. Not like you act like a likeable person on one video and on the other video like a idiot. :)

Please don't take it personally, I just write what I think. Hope it helped you.

Firstly, Thank you very much for taking the time to do this! I appreciate it a lot and its a great review of our channel so thanks :)

I am glad you found the newest video to be engaging, I will admit to the poor quality of the other videos in comparison to the new one. Our next upload I am just as proud of to be honest and I now understand its all about time and consistency.

As far as ranking in the youtube search results. Again I am learning a lot so thank you :) I never thougt about the retention rate just someone clicking on the video was enough before.
