Is it easier for woman to be successful YouTubers than men?

Not to sound like a sexist but if the girl in question is "hot" then yes.
Absolutely not. IMO, a good voice is worth just as much. No facecam needed, just nice voice talking strategy that is useful.[DOUBLEPOST=1423838160,1423838099][/DOUBLEPOST]
Per the spirit of this thread maybe if you were a Calvin Klein model playing with your shirt off you'd have a much higher female viewership.
If I could rock that style, I wouldn't be here talking to yall. My secretary would :P

My thing is, I disagree with the whole notion that girls have an advantage. Of the top channels on YT, very few are run by girls (as long as we don't count VEVO channels). The top subscribed channels have always been run by dudes. Girls are out there, and they have some kickass channels, but it is an absolute falsehood to say they enjoy some kind of advantage by virtue of their gender. If anything, I'd wager a lot of them have an uphill battle, especially in the gaming world.

I've said before that attractive PEOPLE sure have a leg up on YouTube, but it's definitely not female specific. Viewing trends would help show this to be true.

PewDiePie, TheFineBros, AlphaCat.
All top male creators who I wouldn't consider to be stereotypically good-looking, in terms of retaining big teen fanbases.

In PDP's case there are a ton of other reasons that helped him out (Game Theory explains it pretty well).

TheFineBros are a dang studio. Different completely. Their videos aren't them in front of the camera. The REACT series doesn't show them at all.

AlphaCat is FAR from a "top" creator. 600k subscribers is a pipe dream for me, but that's not even close to "top".

Okay, you're right that none of these are vloggers whose physical appearances play a massive part in videos. I guess this would support the idea that content and personalities are primarily the most important things. I know TheFineBros don't appear in the react series but older viewers are aware of them and rightly don't judge them on levels of "attractiveness", which is subjective as hell anyway. AlphaCat might not have the largest following but he did get to meet the president; unknockable :)

I don't think girls have an advantage. I would've thought it worked both ways - just look at the female fan bases for people like One Direction etc.

It seems that as far as gaining subscriptions and views, young girls or attractive girls on YouTube have the advantage over others. They gain subscribers quickly if their videos are half way decent as apposed to men.

Has anyone else noticed this? I haven't even been a part of YTtalk very long and even noticed it on here. Girls with avatars of themselves that are somewhat attractive get more responses on their "Introduce Yourself" threads and on other threads and topics.

Does anyone else think they have an advantage? I'm not trying to start some kind of argument. Maybe I'm noticing something that isn't there, but to me, it seems the good looking young girls gain more traction more easily...

Tell me what you think!

I don't necessarily agree. People that are considered good looking can maybe attract attention enough for viewers to check out their video or channel, but it is not enough to make loyal viewers or subscribers out of them. That's when quality content comes in. You can watch videos of someone just to look at their face/bod whatever, but trust me, it gets old real fast.

Nah I think we got it all wrong. Cats rule Youtube now.

Maybe at first. But after awhile I don't think women have it easier. Most of the top YouTube personalities are men, and whenever I see the lineup for those new tours that seem to pop up every week they rarely if ever feature a girl. But I think the type of content you make plays a role, what about a boy doing makeup videos?
