Is it better to be Scripted or Spontaneous?

Hey fellow YTTalk fam! A Little question for everyone today!

In your videos (NOT including skits), do you prefer to be scripted (or at least have a really good idea of what you want to do) or to be spontaneous (ie; not know what you're gonna say/talk about)

I personally prefer scripted as I like to know what I'm doing and would waste less tape...BUT I've heard from people that I seem more natural in my unscripted videos (mostly only my "Outside" vlogs are spontaneous though)

What do you guys think? Scripted or Spontaneous?!

WELL, in my gaming videos it's pretty much completely spontaneous as what I'm saying is generally in response to the game I'm playing, or is a stream of consciousness. It would only be if I'm breaking out of the game to tell my viewers something where I don't have a direct stimulus, but even then I know what I'm saying in my head so I don't script it.

In my Dan's Life videos (such as my 5 facts about me video, for example) I had a list on my phone of the 5 facts, but used that just as a basis and my explanations/ anecdotes/ etc. are all improvised spontaneously while I film. Which can be good or bad for length and editing purposes, haha. Generally I'm running through what I might say in the video while I'm setting up my camera etc. so I'm fairly confident with what I want to say. That, and I come from a theatre improvisation background so I'm fairly good at talking before I know what I'm saying

In my videos, I don't use a script and never really plan to in the future either. When I make a video I have a few points in mind that I want to bring up so I make sure to get a few shots of whatever I'm filming to accommodate that. Once I'm editing a video I voice over it sentence by sentence and explain what I'm doing in the video. This allows me much more room to move things around and really get them how I want them while saving time writing a boring script.

Scripts are usually for skits, announcement videos, any news type videos. Vlogs and gaming are mostly about natural reactions.

If you are talented in scripting, then surely go for it. If you have crazy personality, you gotta make it spontaneously, bcoz people love watching crazy videos. People love REAL events rather than scripted.

See thats the thing, I'm good with writing scripts and dialogue, but I guess my personality is a bit more on the "subtle" end of crazy (think a subtler Deadpool, or more accurately a Conan O'Brien or Robert Downey Jr; aka cool, calm, and crazy in a much different way)

I don't know why but my personality just isn't as "crazy" haha. And when I try to act crazy, it just either doesn't work or comes off as pretty fake haha.

I believe I am very spontaneous but Writing out my content helps me get my point across and comes though more professionally

Definitely scripted, especially if it's a video I'm trying to deliver some sort of argument for. I need to be clear and to-the-point so that the video doesn't end up being pointless, but has its length shortened.

Personally I don't really take the time to make scripts because I talk pretty naturally I've always been that way also in school with presentations and stuff! But I did a poem style video that I did write out once and that one is still viewed pretty heavy so maybe it's not such a bad idea for me to take the time next time around making a video!
