Is it bad to make yourself get a top comment?

well honestly it's not a big deal nobody is going to go and investigate half of the comments like that usually get thumbed down within a few hours

Because with new Google+ comments the "top comments" aren't actually top comments. Which is truly a shame because it was an amazing way to get subscribers.
