Is google+ helpful in anyway?

Although I'm a small Youtuber, I see no benefit from using Google+ unless you have a large amount of subscribers who use it. From what I've seen, most people don't use Google+.

Google+ merging with Youtube was a hassle at first, but from my research, if people comment on your videos or like them through their Google+ account, it shows up on both their Google account and your Youtube video. So you're actually getting more exposure as far as I'm concerned. :)

YouTube Subscribers 3,243 Views 2,057,068
Google plus followers 125 Views 23,326

I think it definitely helps. I just started putting some deliberate effort into it and I'm starting to get views and comments on my videos from Google+.

I average about one video a week and I now also post it to google+ . In between videos I'll post a few pictures and comments on what I'm doing. this combination seems to be generating regular activity on my site and I think it will continue to grow. I wish I had taken it seriously sooner.

Google+ is something that is overlooked by most people. I'll admit, I neglect it myself but think I'm going to start posting on it more often. Example: MKBHD (The tech youtuber) has a google+ page with 2.6 million followers; that's more than his 2 million subscribers! I think if you are active on it, it can be just as useful if not MORE useful than facebook (since FB now doesn't show your stuff to everyone).

I wanted to test this tonight, joined some of the YouTube communities - posted and introduced myself and posted a video on a different forum. Currently have +50 on the introduction post and 4 new subscribers to my channel. Looking good so far, can't wait to play with it some more.

Google+ is not really usefull for me, there are so many groups that are the same instead of consolidating them in one group.
And within each group, it's mainly sub for sub or even some spam. There is no spirit of community, and there is not a lot going on there...
That is why I am here!

About the comments - you are right - but regarding the likes - at least for me - doesn't work.
I'm using Google+ to promote my videos - for some of them i had 1000's likes but my youtube doesn't show the likes.

Apart of this small issue, google+ like a place to promote my videos works fine. I have good amount of daily views due to g+.
But i cannot say the same for FB or twitter.
Any good tutorial of how to promote on these sites to see the benefits?
