Is Fraps better than Camtasia for gaming?

i would definitely use Fraps for recording your games, it is a very good, and small program and can it's recordings are a good quality in itself.
it can record Skype, and in game audio, even yourself depending on how you set it up.

if you want to record your desktop, websites or something like that, which doesn't evolve around playing in a game, i would use Camtasia though

I would recommend you Fraps beacuse you will get more frames although it takes much more hard drive space its hundreds time better the Camtasia
