Is filmmaking a good niche?

Hi, I'm Bien and my channel's niche is filmmaking. I upload short films and I'm planning to upload movie parodies, movie reviews and indie filmmaking (filmriot or indie mogul type) tips. Compared to other niches like gaming, vlogging, etc. how hard do you think it will be to get under the YouTube radar with a niche like this? And how big is the niche? And do you guys have any tips for me? Thanks!

I think this applies to all niches but if you work hard, persistently and try and be original or at the very least bring something new or different to the table I think you can do very well.

For film reviews you've got big competition but people like a variety of different opinions about a film because everyone things differently.

As for indie film making as long as you can come up with great solutions for things which would normally cost a lot of money you will do great, you can post videos like that on student money saving websites and such and film students will find your channel because of it.

Movie parodies is another great category because as long as you create something that's good quality and funny it could go viral easily!

The only thing you might have trouble with is the short films, but if your channel grows on the other subjects your short films will end up getting more attention off the back of that, why not do a series on DIY/Indie film making then create short films using the tips you've provided then you can advertise the video as a end result of that series, that could work really nicely

But overall, I think it's a great niche and will work great if your videos are good quality and the things you do are original just make sure you advertise as well because self promotion is the key to everything on youtube

This really helped me think out my channel more and how I can organize my content, schedule, etc. I'm really happy I can put all of these concepts in one channel. I don't think one should seek for a niche that is easy to get noticed in and start from there. Instead, the focus should be on finding something you are passionate about and work really hard with it.
