Is Elgato Game Capture Worth the price?

Well thanks everyone for your advice :D Definitely gonna upgrade my capture card now, looks like it's just a case of whether to get an Elgato or Roxio capture card. Quality or Price ?

In the long term, go for quality, you'll probably regret going for the 'price' option in the future :)

The Roxio HD PRO isn't bad at all, I've done side by side comparisons and the only difference I can see that is influenced in price is the software it comes with. El Gato has better software IMO, but software doesn't matter to me, I edit in Adobe After Effects.

Mate I got my Elgato Game Capture HD for £104 which as far as I'm aware is roughly the same price as a Roxio which I think is £99. Honestly get the Elgato it's brilliant!! The software is easy to use and it's very easy to edit (although I use Vegas pro 12)

^ What they said, small, easy to set-up/use, very good quality (don't record in 1080p if you're on a PS3 though), small size (approximately 100mb per minute, maybe higher/lower, which is extremely small for HD). I'd highly reccomend it personally ... if you have the money

I might go ahead and buy this card as well. Thanks for the info!

I've used both Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition 2 as well as the Elgato Game Capture, and there's not comparison: Elgato is hands down the better of the 2 devices. With the Hauppauge I had issues of footage not recording properly and not being able to transfer it over to Vegas to edit. The Elgato is really easy to use, really easy to setup. The capture software is also incredibly user friendly, especially if you want to record live commentaries. You can do that right through the software. I say Elgato is the way to go.
