Is Elgato Game Capture Worth Getting?

I need someones thoughts on what recording software/ device I should get. Along with what mic and computer. Thanks!
 
Now, I don't use capture cards, (PC master race), however I have some friends who use a ton of them. Everyone I have talked to says the Elgato is a great recording device, although some people say you do need a bit better of a computer to use it. Not like a gaming PC, but a $100 laptop isnt going to cut it. It is also going to depend on how serious you are.

As for Mics, just start out buy using a cheap headset mic. This will allow you to get comfortable with audio editing, (that's 80% of Gaming Youtube.) When you feel that you are ready for a new microphone, looking to some USB based mic. I would try to stay away from anything requiring a sound board for a bit.
 
Looking at footage from others that have it I would say its worth it but its also about having the right software and hardware to edit and process it
 
It is worth getting, it is a great game capture. It is small and it is easy to connect everything :) it brings it own software that you download from their page and wuala! I recommend it I use the previous elgato :)
 
i have one and i mean their no way to go wrong with it, good quailty and sound. personally i havent used it for my channel but i might as i feeled inspired
 
Maybe save up for a Elgato, a good decent Blue Snowball Mic, and if you have a computer or a laptop, make sure it can be able to edit well, and record (if you do PC games) and as well as be able to support the video capture you'll need.
 
We managed to get a Second Hand Elgato from Ebay for a really decent price. We've used it for only a few of our videos so far, but each time we've been really happy with the quality! So I personally think it is really good to use, we also were able to get it working on some older consoles! Very happy :)
If you're concerned about the price I suggest keeping an eye on ebay etc. you never know! :)
 
I hear alot of Elgatos out there, I need to get one that can support DSLR for facecam... :P
