Is deleting old videos a good move?

I think it's okay to delete old videos if they're not matching the content you want to create anymore it's your channel so essentially you can do whatever you want that's the best thing about YouTube

On my previous channel I deleted my videos from about 8 months ago because they seemed embarrassing to me. I think it's fine to delete videos that are very old on your channel if they make you cringe or even because they have nothing to do with what your channel is about now.

I wouldn't delete them. Use them as a indicator of how far your videos have come in terms of quality

Well I privated like one video because it was just not well made by my current standarts and I think it didn't really suit the style my channel was going towards. So I think it's completaly fine to keep those to yourself and just maybe look at the from time to time, to see how far you've come in terms of quality.

I deleted 60 videos a few weeks ago. It was horrible for my channel, but now I don't regret it.

I deleted (read: set on private) 200+ videos. They were my old carvlog and some other stuff. I lost 40K views? A pretty big hit. I gained them back in a month. I saw an uptick in viewers and subscribers. So yeah, I think it is a good move to get rid of stuff you no longer do and focus on the stuff you enjoy.

For me its not good because old videos are memories of your hard work, if you delete them its the same as you delete part of your Youtube carrier

If you unlist them instead of putting in private, will you still see a decrease in the total views counter?

I think you made a bad move because those videos you deleted had lots of views already on them. Maybe you should've put those videos in a playlist? Then again, I wouldn't know because I've never deleted a video.
