I'm nearly 2 years on youtube and I have never been consistent but would being consistent with my type of videos build a fanbase faster?

ALOT faster. I dont understand how it works but when i upload every 2 days i got 10-20 subs and when i uploaded like 5 videos in month i got like 7 subs

Being consistent will always help build a fanbase, but for small channels I recommend uploading maybe 2-3 times a week to let the videos soak in and get some people watching, and also it'll give you time to make a good quality video.

There's a lot of things that go into building an audience/fanbase: consistent releases, SEO, thumbnails, promotion, audio/video quality but the most important is to make the best quality content you can. If people who are watching your video see that you're enjoying yourself they will enjoy it themselves. Also interacting with people who comment on your videos goes a long way as well, it shows that you care about them taking the time to watch your video.

Being consistent is important for subscribers because people want to see regular uploads, 2-3 a week is good. Otherwise, why would they subscribe?

OBVIOUSLY. I am consistent uploader and that's why I am getting successful everyday. Being consistent not only brings the viewers, also it develops the reputation of our channel enough to bring more traffic towards your channel. Audience love watching ACTIVE channels.

For me not really. I used to upload every other day and got pretty poor growth, now I take some more time to work on videos and make one or two throughout the week, sometimes even skipping a week, and I still get regular subs, views and interaction. It depends on the content you put out though, and of course everyone has a different experience with growth.

can't stress it enough, consistency is key, if you don't upload enough your fan-base will go bye bye, I suggest 2-4 videos a week for starting channels.

Being consistent will absolutely help grow a fan base in my opinion. Let's say you only post a video once every month or two. Not a lot of people will watch it because they forget about your channel if your not uploading consistently. I try to upload a new video once a week to keep my viewers coming back for something new. Now sure eventually everyone wants to take a break from YouTube and that's fine but be sure to tell your audience your taking a break and tell them when they can expect new content from you. If you do that and for the most part upload frequently your viewers will keep coming back.

Consistency is good, but make sure you can stick to the schedule you pick. Uploading terrible videos every day, or missing your deadline days because you're overwhelmed isn't going to gain you an audience. If you can make a fantastic video every week, and guarantee you'll get that video out on Tuesdays, then do that.

Also, staying consistent with your types of content seems to help. When a channel is all over the place in terms of the subject matter, that seems to push some viewers away. It doesn't mean you have to be totally the same all the time, but give people something to expect.
