Is a 30 second intro too long?

Yes, 30 seconds is far too long. 15 is as long as I'll watch, and that's pushing it. They key to an intro is making it so that way viewers will be interested and will enjoy the what you can call "hook" to the video, so they will stay and watch the whole thing, and maybe you'll even earn a subscriber.
 
uhhh yes, i would keep it to less then 5 or possibly even 3, I tent to click off videos with long intros :p
 
your intro is better to be short and to the point to keep the viewer interested but if its really good then you could possibly pull it off
