I meant depth of field/aperture, custom ISO, etc.

In certain cases with good lighting, you can get that 1080p quality, but when you're inside and there's no artificial lighting/natural lighting, you're bound to get mediocre quality at best!

i use my iphone 4s to record all my vlogs and i think its fine
the picture and sound are both decent in my opinion, the only thing is that my videos have the black bars when i put em on youtube and i dno what to do about that :s

I've recorded a lot of my videos with my iPhone 4S before I got my DSLR. It gives great quality footage. Remember you will need lots of good light though since the lens is very small.
