I've got about 1000 clicks through In-Video Programming over the last 6 months, so it's not a lot but considering the amount of effort it requires it's still worth it.

I don't completely understand inVideo programming like how to add a subscribe button to the watermark.

I think it helps when your videos are embedded on different platforms - a user doesn't have to scroll down to the bottom of the screen (since they may not know that link takes you to the video in YouTube). Instead they can see the icon directly in the corner.
However, you need to keep in mind whether or not it distracts from your type of video. It may not be appropriate for skits/short movies, but for other types of videos it should be fine.
