InStream Ad Options? Please Help!

Hey everyone, I uploaded a video today that was about 14 minutes long. I went to monetize it, and saw that there was a section called "InStream Ad Options" underneath the "TruView" section. The Ad Options section had 3 checkboxes:
-Pre-Roll
-Mid-Roll
-Post-Roll

I've never seen those 3 options before. There's usually just a checkbox for TruView but not the 3 checkboxes underneath.

I cant figure out if this is a new YT feature or because this video is 14 minutes long as opposed to my usual 3-5 minutes long.
Please help!

Also, would you recommend checking off the Pre-Roll ad option? The vid is a 14 minute long tutorial.

Thanks in advance![DOUBLEPOST=1384873181,1384871512][/DOUBLEPOST]From what I read online, those 3 checkboxes appear because the latter 2 are only available for videos that are more than 10 minutes long. Whereas on the vids that are shorter than 10 minutes, only the truview checkbox appears. Please tell me if I'm correct LOL!

Well post-rolls are hardly effective because its at the end and people will just switch to a different video, mid-rolls are the best in my opinion because at that point you have their attention and you wont lose it with an ad, and then there are pre-rolls which might scare the viewer away. So yes a would go with mid-roll, it only shows up for long videos :)

I'm skeptical about sustaining good audience retention with an ad in the middle of the show, but if your content is captivating then go with mid-roll. No one is going to watch the post roll one and pre roll is annoying.

I do pre-roll ads. I can not stand mid-roll ads. Nothing is more annoying that watching a video you are interested in and then a dang ad comes up. I have exited the video many times beacuse of that, this is just my opinion though. I would rather sit through a 10 second ad at the front of the video, then not be interupted.

I just went with the TrueView checkbox for now because the video has no views; however, I'll be checking off one of the 3 boxes once it gets a few thousand and gets some reputation.

One more question...
Does checking off the TrueView checkbox, but none of the other 3 checkboxes, still show the "skippable" ads before the video?

I'm pretty sure the True View is the skippable ads

Thanks thecmcollection! I checked out your vids. Love em!

PS. If anyone would be able to confirm what thecmcollection said about trueview, it would be greatly appreciated!

Bringing this thread back up because I'm looking for the same answer. I've got long videos and so far I've just been checking the top for "TrueView in-stream ads" and not checking the sub boxes underneath as in attached file. Can anyone with experience help me understand what happens if you click "Show pre-roll ads" also? Any harm in a post-roll ad? I can see how mid-roll would be bother viewers!

From what i know:

True view insteam ads (skipable video ads)
Standart insteam ads (non-skipable = most annoying video ads)
