Bonjour, everyone !
Last month, just after the inner changes of YouTube's system the monetization became all crazy for me. Now, I have two big issues and I don't know how to deal with them.
- 4 of my videos were monetized (strangely most of my most viewed ones...) became simply contested with the following advice : more informations are necessary to review your request monetization
The problem : it's videos of Amnesia : The Dark Descent ; A Machine For Pigs, and Slender: The Eight Pages.
I verified, and the developpers stated that they were OK with videos AND monetization.
I contested in YouTube, and now, it's just stuck under review since a month already. I wonder if some of you guys had this problem and was it fixed ? Because I have the elements necessary in order to proove that everything is in order, but they won't even let me do so.
- My next problem is : INgrooves. Now I've been flagged with all sort of bs*ters like AdRev, Omnimedia and others. I strongly believe INgrooves is one of them, and a persistent one.
The thing is, they claim that they own Infected Mushroom. But I've searched for their label, it's Dim Mak Records, right ?
I've also searched in the library of INgrooves, and didn't manage to find Infected Mushroom somewhere.
So, they don't own the rights but they pretend to, unless I didn't look in the right place.
Maybe I'm wrong there, but I contested them saying that.
Still, they firmly claim to own the song.
In the first place, it's my fault for using a sample (30 seconds) of a music of Infected Mushroom. The deal is, I didn't know it WAS an original music. I was looking for a music with the same style of the group or a remix who would sound very different. Back then, I wasn't aware of all the rights problems and for example : royalty free music, I didn't even know that existed ! So when I found a remix of some other YouTuber, I asked him the permission to use a sample of his work, thinking it was OK in term of rights. I lacked informations. Nevertheless, I contacted Dim Mak Records in order to fix this issue, but I'm not even sure that it will help.
Whatever. My question is : does somebody else had problems with INgrooves like this one and managed to solve them ? Because even if I point that they don't own Infected Mushroom, they don't back up. I want to contest it, but I don't even know if, with the written consent of Dim Mak Records, they will cancel their claims.
I don't want to risk a copyright strike or anything else, because my channel is all in good-standards right now.
Thanks in advance.
Greetings to ya'all ! /o/
