I've Got It
So I don't get a butt ton of views on my videos and I'm partnered with freedom. I chose to disable monetization because i don't see a point, but how many views should I be getting before I enable it?

And could someone please explain who determines my CPM and how I can check what it is?

Why is there no point in making money? Even if it's minimal.

Let's say a video goes viral overnight. You would've wished that you had ads on that video.
When YouTube first was introducing the partner program I had a video go viral. And then they asked me if I wanted to put ads on that video. I missed out on some good money.

There is also some speculation that YouTube boosts the videos with ads, because if they don't have ads it doesn't make them money. So why would they want them seen? Not sure if this is confirmed or not. But it sounds pretty accurate.
