It honestly does. Someone with 10,000 subs would obviously get more views/comments/etc. than someone with 100.

I still feel you're missing it. Subs matter A LOT. Let's say I have 10 subs. That's like going up to a group of 10 people that don't know me very well and saying to go hang out with this random dude I don't know very well. Do you think they will? No. They will laugh and walk away. Same with YouTube.

And you think that at 14 subs they are super active? At least at 1000 subs you can expect a consistent number of viewers (and generally know them by name).
