What should you do? You should grow the hell up. If you're going to treat College like Junior High / High School where your social status is of paramount importance, then you're already in for a rough time. If you have friends who will insult you for what you're doing with your channel on the side, you need to check the definition of the word friend.
[DOUBLEPOST=1383935056,1383934599][/DOUBLEPOST]But yeah you guys are all right! I've re-publicised my favourite videos (the vlogs etc aren't worth the time to re-publicise !)

Who cares what that beech (or anyone else) thinks - I'm going to do what I love :)

Thanks for all your help - having this close knit community is what makes this forum so awesome so thanks for taking the time to help me out!

-but feel free to keep the replies coming in as this might be of use to other people too! :) you guys are the best![DOUBLEPOST=1383935277][/DOUBLEPOST]
Hey, look, being an "artist", a person who makes content, has to be able to uphold it and express it to the world. I do agree with you that the world can be an evil and stereotypical place, but in some aspects it might be a good thing. Just because that girl doesn't like your videos doesn't mean other people will. It doesn't matter your subscribers or your views, it's about your content and what you've created that shows what type of person you really are. I do believe youtube can act as a temporary diary twords who you are on the inside, since it would be very unlikely for people in your area to know you (unless you become famous.)

The main point is to stand by what you've made, because you can't call yourself an artist if you won't take credit for what you've made. Because that's what we all are, artists. I'm pretty sure alot of people have been in the same situation, I HAVE TOO, but trust me, what may seem dorky and stupid to you might seem great in other peoples eyes. As for people making fun of you, you should just ignore it. If you show people it doesn't bother you, then people wont bother to make fun of it. best of luck.

Thanks to you especially - everything you said ;I can relate to! Thanks for taking the time to help :)

Happy to see you choose to go that way, simply be yourself and upload what you want, let them make fun and they will soon lose interest ( like most people already told you, lol )

Anyway, Good luck with you channel !

This + people like hating, life it`s cruel, deal with it bro. We are here to support you no matter what. ;)

I have self esteem issues and am always worried about what others thing too. It was very hard for me to make my first video years ago to and that was just my voice and not my face!

Maybe use this period of time in personal growth in trying to learn to just be yourself and not care what others think. I know I need to do that more.

Yeah people can be stupid, particularly when still at school, but if you want your YT channel to be a success, you really have to take an "all or nothing" approach to marketing it. If you are constantly walking on egg shells and only half-heartedly getting it out there, it will never grow. YT is hard enough for us small channels.

In the short-term, it might be hard to deal with the haters, but the best way to overcome it is to ignore them and make it motivate you more to grow your channel more. As you grow, their hate will make them look stupider and stupider every day...

Good luck

sounds like you shouldnt be on youtube, ir you are embarrassed of the content youre putting out then maybe you should not have posted it.

In all fairness, as soon you start doing YouTube you'll have to get use to the haters/trolls...
Just ignore her...Cause you're doing what you love..doing :)

Great video's by the way! +Sub'd

Dude, look at this as a promotional opportunity and don't let the idiots dictate what you're going to do.. In fact the first thing I would have done if I were you was told everyone you had a YouTube channel, getting a network of people who know about your channel is one of the keys to growing. Getting them to re-tweet, share, fave, like, subscribe is far far easier than getting the standard YouTube browser to do.

YouTube is a public place, if you're scared about putting videos on there because people may hate on you then perhaps you should consider not being a YouTuber. You need to grow a thick skin mate, and just let the hate roll off you. Be confident and don't take any negative comments to heart. A lot of people are just either jealous that they're not doing what you do, you have a quality that they don't or they're just idiots.

Put a positive spin on the whole thing... Views are views, word-of-mouth is invaluable. You have a YouTube channel, they don't. Your content is good, you just gained a subscriber.
