... would you spam? One of the main reasons I don't bother trying to spam comments with my channel info (aside from finding it pretty darn tacky) is that I honestly don't see it working out in the long run. BUT if I knew that spamming comments left and right would result in a million subscribers? That becomes a much tougher choice where what I want and who I want to be would be at odds with one another.

What about you all?
 
I think it is pretty tacky when other channels spam in the comments of other channels generally speaking. I do tutorials though, and like helping out fellow crafting channels, so I let many similar channels post links in comments, as long as they don't do it all the time. Sometimes when they show up, and leave comments in my videos and they don't mention their channel, I will often reply with saying I need to drop by their channel to see what is new. Hopefully when my viewers see my comment, they will hopefully pop on over to the other person's channel too.

I liked a few of your videos. I spent a whole morning wtching them before the Holidays. I think I am subscribed :)
Eta: I just popped on over, and noticed I wasn't subscribed, so I just did.

I liked the end of one of your videos in particular, where you apologized for the punch line coming to soon :) It made me laugh out loud. I can't remember which video of yours that was.

The little demon inside of me would be like "stop being a child, Anthony" but the angel (Drake) would be like "you're better than this, Anthony" so I'd have a lot of internal conflict. I probably wouldn't because I'd feel bad about it.

That's a cool way to look at it... rewarding folks who DON'T spam. I like it. And thanks for the kind words. <3 The punch line too soon was the self titled video "SuckMyDax" where I tried to turn a bunch of sexual innuendos into comedy references. Awesome to hear that you had a good laugh (which is exactly why I'm doing this ^__^)

I lean towards a similar probable outcome. I mean, I REALLY want to make this happen, but I don't know if I'd be able to look myself in the mirror if I went 100% shady with seeking new subscribers. I don't mind trying to get my channel name in when it's borderline, but outright "HEY COME CHECK ME OUT!" I doubt I'll ever be able to commit to, regardless of potential outcome.
 
I dont agree with spamming. Honestly 1mil subs sounds nice but we dont do it for subs we do it for fun. I thnk spamming is annoying. I see a lot of bigger channels spamming and it makes me want to NOT subscribe. To each his own I guess
 
That's a tricky question. I would never normally spam because I know it wouldn't do much and would probably make everyone hate me, but I don't know what I'd do if I knew it would make a million people come and watch my content and subscribe to me.
I think I probably would do it to be honest, I would just feel really guilty about it.
 
What the heck... spamming won't get you into jail....

If I knew I would get one million views, the only thing I have to do is to press the big red button. That button sends every person on earth an email with my link. I would press several times :D
 
I think you can genuinely comment on videos that you enjoyed or have questions about which is kind of like the same concept but you're not literally spamming you're being active and interacting in the community. Then again I've never attempted so I don't know the perks of doing such a thing. I guess different strokes for different folks! :D
