Hey, I would love a review. I am a newer channel and i am trying hard to improve as fast as i can. I started with a headset that broke on me 2 weeks into my channel and have tried hard to improve my quality. Is it paying off?

Sure by all means review my channel and let me know what you think

Hi Courtney,

Sorry it took me months on months to get back to you, but I can see after stalking you for a day that you’re a busy guy too, so I’m sure you understand.

Simply put: You’ve got the best edited stuff of any channel I’ve reviewed and of any channel your size I’ve come across. You mention in your about section that you’re an artist and that you want to use the gifts God’s given you. I think you’ve been pulling that off, and it seems like you’re continuing to get better at it. Lots of people understand editing software, and that’s great and all, but editing is a very unique skillset and you’re great at it. I’ve done a good amount of work in film, and I know how much time goes into that.

I could be wrong, but I get the impression that the YouTube channel is something you use to dump projects you’ve been paid to do so that you can get some extra mileage out of the work you’ve already done. A portfolio if you will. I also get the impression that you use the channel for other stuff that’s just for fun or because you had something on your mind as well. On top of that you obvious review products as well. All that adds up to a very diverse channel, and I like that. That said, if your channel is diverse, that means is driven more by the personality behind it than the content in it, and I think that’s the case for you. You’re a deep thinker, and very knowledgeable about your subject matter, and it seems like that’s where you connect best with your audience. I’m generally bored to tears by gaming videos, but I like the way you talk about other things over the top of them (or used to – seems like you’ve gotten away from that).

I’m rambling, but there was a point to that last paragraph and here it is: I get the impression that your website and your business associated with it are your points of emphasis and the YouTube channel is something that compliments that. I think that because of the quality of your website and the quality of your contract work, but I also think that because of your numbers. For as long as you’ve been at it, as well as you edit, and as smoothly as you come off on camera and in voice overs, I’d expect a lot more subscribers and views. I don’t think you’re failing in this respect, I just suspect that getting those numbers to really go hasn’t been your priority. I mean, the amount of time you’re putting into those edits (not to mention the conceptual pre-production stuff) is massive, and some of those quality videos are only netting you a couple hundred views.

Normally I’d offer pointers here or there to connect with the audience or to improve production value, but those things are going great, I think you know exactly what you’re doing, and I get the impression that you’re have a good time coming at it the way you do. My only possible suggestion would be to spend more time on camera because you do it well when you’re there. I have to pound through a ton of videos to put a face with the voice, and when I finally got to make that connection I was impressed.

You’re talented. You’re succeeding. I sense you have your channel where you want it to be, and I for one like it. If you want to talk shop sometime, you’re always welcome to look me up.

Take care,

Matt

THANKS for the in depth review!

Hey, man! Props to you for getting all these requests and still taking the time to review channels. Respect!

If you have the time, I would love to hear your thoughts on my channel. However, there's no rush. I can see that you've got quite a lot to go through, so please take all the time you need!

We're all trying to get better at what we're doing, and I know how much I appreciate it when anyone takes the time to meaningfully interact with my Ten Minute Bible Hour channel or with my short films. I'm no expert at anything, but I'd be willing to look at what you're doing and offer some honest, friendly, for-what-they're-worth thoughts.
You are more than welcome to review mine :)

Would love a review man I can always accept new constructive criticism, and we all have areas we can improve on so thanks man. Hit me up! :p
