I would be incredibly grateful for your advice...

Like Dutchie said, the only thing you need 100 subs for is the custom url. And even then there’s a way around that by linking an associated site.

A custom url would be youtube.com/pixelandbracket as opposed to youtube.com/UCE285IsniG168.

As far as creating a card for a video on your old channel:

1. Create a promo video on your old channel directing people to your new one.

2. Make this promo your old channel’s main video (channel trailer)

3. Put a link to that video and your new channel in your 20k video.

4. Also create a card on your 20k video that points to the promo video. Cards are little links that pop up in the upper right of a video. You can make them under the “Edit” settings of that video.

They changed that ;) you can use custom thumbnails from the beginning. It's the custom URL that you need a 100 subs for ;)

OMG you are right! Well this is embarrassing LOL I'm having a lack of sleep or something.... I have no idea how I managed to mix this up... oops! So it seems I can use custom thumbnails right away so long as I simply verify my channel? Is that the only requirement? Just making sure I didn't miss anything else.... thanks! :)[DOUBLEPOST=1506778078,1506777706][/DOUBLEPOST]

Great! Thanks so much for your in depth reply and instructions. I will DEFINITELY follow them. I really appreciate all the help :) I must be having lack of sleep to have mixed up the custom URL thing with the custom thumbnail thing... oops! I am soooo happy I can use custom thumbnails on a brand new channel so long as that channel is verified... I HOPE that's the only requirement....

... so in conclusion... now I am still confused as to whether it is better idea to use OLD channel and convert it or simply start brand new channel. OMG... I'm hopeless... I cannot seem to be able to make a firm decision on that one :( I don't know... but to me it seems if one of my videos on old channel pretty recently (7 months ago) got 22,000 views... and now it's almost at 23,000 views!! That is something I should not throw away???

... so that video is STILL getting lots of views!! :D

If you have a video with over 20k views, I’d just convert the old channel - mainly because you’re already over the 10,000-view threshold to monetize. One less hurdle to jump through.

I was hoping to hold of monetizing my videos until and IF I ever have at least 20,000+ subs... because if I monetize my videos then I'm going to start having ads displayed on my videos before is plays, correct? I feel as though I would grow faster without having any such ads in the beginning... and the amount of money that I would earn from monetizing right now is not worth the trade off of potentially slowing my growth down...

Someone contacted me on youtube 5 months ago about this video that is getting 23,000 views... they said the below... I have no idea what I am doing or what is legit or not... so I don't know if I should post this in separate thread but I would be very grateful to hear any advice on the below message I received from them after I just replied to them recently:

Don't ever join anything where anyone manages your account. They can't do anything more than you can. The overwhelming majority of sentiment is negative toward MCM etc..

Also, nobody has the actual answer for you in regards to starting a new channel or posting on an old one. That's a decision you just need to make, and in my opinion you should just continue with the old channel but give it a facelift. You may lose some of those subs, but if anything it's a step ahead of starting a new channel.

Thanks again for your advice. If I convert the OLD channel maybe I should post several of videos of the new content before I change the channel name? Only problem is that on social media sites I have already been "advertising" new channel name so this won't work. I also need to change my old channel into a business account if I decide to keep and use the old channel...[DOUBLEPOST=1506801703,1506790524][/DOUBLEPOST]

I just converted my OLD channel into a business account (still have same name as I haven't chnaged channel name yet) and I just posted video on my OLD youtube channel and quickly mentioned my plans to revamp the channel etc. Should I put my "viral" video that is getting 23,000 views onto my youtube homepage as a trailer for new visitors?? I see that I have option on what video is displayed on my homepage for new visitors and then which videos I want to have displayed for existing subscribers.

I have a lot to learn... I just HOPE by me converting my OLD channel is the right thing to do. I haven't converted it yet... I'm still unsure :) :([DOUBLEPOST=1506801981][/DOUBLEPOST]I think this forum has a bug. It doesn't appear that social blade is accurate at all because by what that says below social blade thinks I have 12,071 views in the past 30 days? This is not possible! I didn't get 12,071 views in the past 30 days. Am I dumb or is that not what it's saying?

It says the watch time in minutes totals 10,354 for the past 30 days... is that good or bad? It says average view duration is only 52 seconds... ah oh... that doesn't sound good??

I think I might be starting to regret not starting a fresh new channel from scratch rather than converting my OLD channel... I'm barely getting any views at all on new videos I upload... so to be honest I might have been better off starting with a fresh new channel from scratch??

The fact that ONE of my old videos I posted 7 months ago is getting about 300-400 views a day is not doing me ANY good to be honest... as nobody is viewing the new videos I upload! :(

I have 166 videos on my OLD channel and 99% of those video barely got ANY views... didn't that affect my channel ranking??? Maybe by me converting my OLD channel I made things a lot more difficult for myself??? Because what if my OLD channel had a BAD rank... how can I find out what rank my channel has? Thanks for any help... I'm feeling a bit dicouraged because I see other youtubers who started their channel exactly 12 months ago and they are doing the EXACT same content as me (literaly the same niche and everything) yet they have well over 100K subs![DOUBLEPOST=1507242632,1507241109][/DOUBLEPOST]Should I DELETE all of the old videos on my old channel that barely got any views?? they are just random videos of my bird I posted last year... unimportant videos... maybe the fact that all of those videos barely got any views and the fact that those videos still exist is hurting my channel?
